Baby Woodrose - Blows Your Mind! (White) (IMPORT) (LP)
Limited edition on white vinyl. Deluxe gatefold sleeve.
The music is very different from Lorenzo’s main band On Trial, this is 60´s sounding psychedelic rock with a strong pop vibe. If you have (and love) the Nuggets box you’ll love this as well, if you also like The Wellwater Conspiracy and bands like Farflung and ST 37 you gotta buy this disc as well. ...Lorenzo has a great voice that at times reminds me of Dave Wyndorf’s, on top of that he handles all the instruments himself on this CD. ...You simply can’t go wrong with a record filled to the brim with acid guitars, trippy lyrics, great vocals and extremely catchy melodies with a strong pop vibe (which is an art that seems to have been more or less forgotten since the heydays in the 60´s).
Yeah! This album is SUPER! Baby Woodrose are with a doubt one of the best modern bands that produce 60's garage psych. The pop vibe comes naturally with the garage. And if you like On Trial you'll love this. I can not really point out a hit song. This is a HIT album!
Baby Woodrose - Chasing Rainbows (Green) (IMPORT) (LP)
Limited edition on green vinyl. Deluxe gatefold sleeve.
If Money for Soul was a wild romp through pop-influenced '60's garage rock, Chasing Rainbows is more interested in the psychedelic angle. The 11 songs on the album get progressively darker and more twisted. These guys really know how to write some great throwback tunes. If you're in the mood for some drugged out '60's garage pop with some lyrical heft, this is the album for you.
Baby Woodrose attempt a look into that strange, dark heart that fueled the psychedelic rock of the 1960s - borrowing from (and paying tribute to) bands like The Rolling Stones and Jefferson Airplane - and crafting an interesting, layered rock album in Chasing Rainbows. If you love the Stones and the soundtracks to films investigating the liminal period that the 60s and early 70s represented, Chasing Rainbows should find its way into your collection.
Baby Woodrose - Coming Around Again (IMPORT) (7 inch)
Limited edition! Both songs are exclusive to this release!!
The new Baby Woodrose 7” contains two exclusive songs only available on this fine piece of plastic. Both songs were recorded with the intension of being included on their recent album "Chasing Rainbows" but it never happend. Not because of the quality of the songs, they just did not seem to fit in.
Baby Woodrose - Disconnected (IMPORT) (7 inch)
The Danish music scene is finally getting somewhere and Baby Woodrose is the latest proof. With the sparse line-up of two guitars, drums and vocals they manage to create a unique sound that takes them to the 60's and back leaving the music being influenced by many shades of rock'n'roll and psych but played with heartfelt punk attitude.
Danish outfit Baby Woodrose haven't been around too terribly long, but you wouldn't guess it by their veteran classic sounding musicianship and overall flow and tightness as a unit. Some of it reminds me of 60's garage, other times it reminds me of bands like Cream and Pentagram with their creamy guitar tones and layers of stringed overdubs...leads and all.
Baby Woodrose - Freedom (Red) (IMPORT) (LP)
Limited edition on red colored vinyl.
The 2016 full-length from the Danish garage-psych power house. All Baby Woodrose albums have a different vibe and this time there has been an analogue approach to recording the nine songs. The whole album is recorded and mixed on tape, givng it a very rockband live-in-the-studio type of feel. This means no cut and paste and a minimal amount of overdubs.
Baby Woodrose - Kicking Ass and Taking Names (IMPORT) (LP)
Limited edition on black vinyl.
The tracks contained on this compilation represent the outskirts of the Baby Woodrose universe, from weird cover versions like '6654321' by The Troggs to 2 minute punk outbursts like 'A Good Day To Die', but what they all have in common is the uncommitted energy and instant excitement of an adrenaline kick. Some of them were created on the spot in the studio (Live Wire comes to mind) and others were meant as album tracks, but ended up as outtakes for one reason or another. They have been recorded over a number of years, in different studios and by different band lineups, mixed at different stages by different people and released by different labels from all over the world, so the sound might vary slightly, but they also represent a unique archival history of the band, compiled here for the first time. An excellent collection of rare B-sides 2001-2013.
Baby Woodrose - Take it (IMPORT) (7 inch)
The A-Side is a track from the album simply called Baby Woodrose while the B-side “I Need” is exclusive to Get Hip and was originally recorded for the Love Comes Down album from 2004. It was never used on the album since the drums mysteriously disappeared from the mastertape. The drums were later restored and the song can now be heard for the first time on this single!
Bad Acid - Revelations of the Third Eye (IMPORT) (LP)
Limited edition on black vinyl.
Bad Acid (two former members of MAMONT) delivers a flawless debut album that totally shows just what this band is capable of. This is the kind of album that both commands and demands your attention. BAD ACID has joined the ranks of bands such as SPIDERS, KATLA and BLUES PILLS. Just put those headphones on, take a load off, and let BAD ACID transport you to wherever it is they're taking you. And when the trip has ended, you'll definitely want another ride!
Bang - Death of a Country (Blue) (IMPORT) (LP)
Limited edition of only 300 copies on blue colored vinyl.
The -back in the day- unissued 1971 album by BANG, the reunited Philadelphia-based doom metal forerunners. The band was founded in August 1969, a week or two after Woodstock, by 16-year-old high school dropouts Frank Ferrera (vocals, bass) and Frank Gilcken (guitar), who swiftly recruited the 26-year-old Tony Diorio (drums). BANG was ready to become the next big thing in 1972, but things didn't work out as desired. The trio disbanded in sheer frustration in 1974, leaving behind four albums, which by now have gained serious cult status.
