Label: Nasoni Origin: Germany
Limited edition of only 100 copies on red vinyl. Zaphire Oktalogue, 3 friends, between 15 and 20, mix up their different tastes and abilities to make their own incisive kind of progressive music. Zebulon Cape Canaria (Color) (Vinyl 10 inch) (Import)
Label: People Like You Origin: Germany
Red orange swirl colored vinyl! What is it with this seemingly endless supply of cool heavy rock bands from Sweden? Man, I got half a mind to move there after I heard Zebulon for the first time... This four song EP is a heavy assault on heaviness that reminds me of a nice warm (and I mean very warm) spot between, well- Turbo Negro and Orange Goblin, leaning more towards the Goblin’s style of heaviness...if you know what I mean... Go out and get this record. It’s heavy ,...

Zebulon Volume 1 (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: People Like You Origin: Germany
Color vinyl. [Zebulon has] the same kinda punkrock flavoured stoner rock as labelmates Sunride have done to perfection... it´s like a mix between stoner rock, punkrock and the high energy rock of bands like Hellacopters and Rickshaw.

Zeke Death Alley (Vinyl LP)
Label: Tee Pee Origin: USA
Take the elements of classic Zeke, thicken the guitars up a bit, add a truckload of blistering lead guitar and sprinkle in a dose or two of swampy southern groove here and there. The only element the band has toned down in the slightest are Blind Marky Felchtone's (now referred to as Mark of the Beast, by the way) vocals. Hell, after his sickeningly harsh performance on Dirty Sanchez it's a wonder the guy even has a voice left. Death Alley finds Zeke com...

Zeke Dirty Sanchez (Vinyl LP)
Label: Epitaph Origin: USA
Zeke are reckless, out of control, and speeding toward destruction. If my life ever takes a turn for the worse, and I decide to move to Vegas and drink myself into the grave, this is the album I'll do it to. Dirty Sanchez is a blisteringly fast, adrenaline soaked nightmare. It hits so hard and fast, that it's over before you knew it began and your head is spinning and maybe even hurting a little. This album is about as hard and fucked up as you can get.

Zeke Flat Tracker/Super Sound Racing (Color) (Vinyl LP)
Label: Relapse Origin: USA
Limited edition of only 900 copies on colored vinyl. Hailing from Seattle, the four-piece have reissued their first two albums, Flat Tracker and Super Sound Racing and, you know what, they’re still hellish nasty. They’re a middle-finger fuck you to the modern generation of rock fans and bands. They sound like Motorhead and MC5 on a cocktail of drugs that would send even hardened druggies to their grave.

Zeke Kicked in the Teeth (Vinyl LP)
Label: Epitaph Origin: USA
Next time you're in the mood to be abruptly pummelled by a CD, make sure you put Zeke on. The Motorhead-meets-Ramones (but only after being fueled by amphetamines) onslaught of Zeke is as refreshing as a bucket of ice cold water being dumped on your head while taking a hot shower. Guaranteed to be great live and invigorating for mosh sessions in the privacy of your own bedroom, Zeke is just dandy.

Zeke Til the Livin End (Blue) (Vinyl LP)
Label: Relapse Origin: USA
Super limited edition of only 300 copies on blue vinyl! Zeke have always been known for their tear-ass approach to hard rock music. On 'Til The Livin' End, they seem to be striving to reign in that speed a little bit and apply a little more song craft and sonic symmetry to their aural attack. The guitar tone is way more metal than it is punk, which is very appealing to someone like myself who digs that really deep rich overdriven amp tone. The vocals are of the ...

Zen So Very Zen (Vinyl 10 inch) (Import)
Label: Froghouse Origin: Sweden
Orange vinyl! Here's a bit of a surprise, a Swedish band that doesn't sound like Kyuss or the Stooges! Zen turn in an interesting album of pop with hard rock and psych influences. Excellent musicians with interesting ideas usually make good albums and this one is no exception. Catchy and intriguing in a way that recalls Mammoth Volume's last couple of records. Definitely worth a listen.

Zerocharisma Voodoo Science b/w Liftin Phoenix (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: World Records Origin: Finland
The first side "Voodoo Science" is a high energy rock and roll ride reminding me of lots of things...mainly Dozer. It has that fuzzed out guitar sound and upbeat with a melodic strong fronting vocals... Good production and fat sounds, tight rythm section along the lines of Nebula, Fu...This is a kick ass litte 7" making me want more...maybe a full length? We can only hope. Definitely worth the listen and purchase, especially if you like that high energy let your hair d...

Limited edition on colored vinyl. Beautiful deluxe gatefold sleeve. This extraordinary musical snapshot captures the band in full flight, building delightful improvisational psychedelic soundscapes. Six long instrumental trips with floating keyboards, fuzzed up guitars and a sometimes very pumping rhythm section. This album creates a long lasting and incredibly mesmerizing impact.

Zoroaster Dog Magic (Bleed) (Vinyl 2LP)
Label: Kreation Origin: USA
Severely limited edition of only 250 copies on red and gold swirl vinyl! Deluxe gatefold sleeve! Remastered by Mell Dettmer (Sunn0))), Earth, Boris). Zoroaster's Self Titled debut from last year was doom slow in the vein of Warhorse and Sleep – the sort of heaviness that has a physical presence. A good set of speakers (to cut through the almost-demo quality production) and you could feel the music wrapping itself around you. The Atlanta-based band's follow-up, ...
