The Archive lists many of the Vinyl Records, CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, Posters, (etc, etc, etc) that have been removed from All That is Heavy over the course of time. Items get removed from All That is Heavy for various reasons but it's usually because they go out of print and are simply not available to us anymore. The Vinyl Records, CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, Posters, (etc) listed in The Archive are not available for purchase anymore. We just thought it would be fun for our customers to look back in time and see all the cool stuff that we used to sell. The Archive exists for informational purposes only. H.C. Minds Superficial Worlds (CD)
Label: Self Release Origin: USA
H.C. Minds are from Eugene, Oregon and feature Yob`s Isamu Sato on guitar, bass and vocals. Very heavy, downtuned hatred inhabiting a lower register than much of Yob`s brand of sludge.

H.C. Minds The Beginning of the End. (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Blind Date Origin: Germany
Limited edition of only 260 copies on black vinyl. Includes a poster. Age hasn’t mellowed H.C. Minds’ Isamu Sato and crew a single iota. A decade after the YOB and Aldebaran alumni first released Superficial Worlds, they’ve finally delivered a follow up. Sure, the Dot(.) split and Who Can Survive? EP hinted the band was dredging deeper, more sallow expanses of swampland, but those were no reason to infer H.C. Minds would reemerge brandishing The Beginning of the End in...

H.C. Minds/Dot[.] Split 7 inch (Vinyl 7 inch)
Label: Phat Sausage Farm Origin: USA
Super limited edition of 300 copies! This is a great little EP featuring two of the better "unknown" sludge bands going to day. HC Minds are from Eugene, Oregon and feature Yob's Isamu Sato on guitar, bass and vocals and Yob mainman Mike Scheidt filling in on drums for this session. They released an album a few years back and then dropped off the radar for a while. Isamu & Co. are back with this new sludge ditty called "Earth Is Hell". Very heavy, downtuned hatred inhab...

Habsyll/Aun Split LP (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Conspiracy Origin: Belgium
Limited edition of only 250 copies on gold colored vinyl. Includes an MP3 coupon. AUN ventures into new territory. “Druids” plays like 70’s space rock on bad acid, where dissonant tones and hallucinogenic melodies slam head-first into slow, pounding beats. Texture and rhythm collide to create a dark unworldly psychedelia. “Fall Out” continues the spacey vibe, blending rhythm, bass, guitar and acidic noise shards, seemingly taking some cues from the late 60’s New York u...

Hail!Hornet Self Titled (CD)
Label: Dwell Origin: USA
Features members of Alabama Thunderpussy, Weedeater, Sourvein and Beaten Back to Pure. Collaborations of this nature are always the sum of their parts. In Hail!Hornet's case, that's an ugly and mean-spirited hybrid of Beaten Back to Pure (guitarist Vince Burke), Sourvein, Weedeater (bassist Dixie Dave) and Alabama Thunderpussy / Axehandle (Larson's known for his guitar work in the former, but drummed for the latter, as he also does here). Mix that up and you've got a fe...

Half Man Red Herring (Vinyl 2LP) (Import)
Label: Beard of Stars Origin: Italy
This double LP features a fantastic gatefold sleeve with different artwork than the CD and a bonus track (Red Herring) not included on the CD. I’ve seen a whole bunch of gigs over the last couple of years, but no matter how many gigs I’ve seen, the best one is still Half Man (at the DIST festival). No other band can combine blues, psychedelic and early 70’s style hard rock to that perfection (both live and on records)... there’s a few that comes close, but Half Man stil...

Half Man The Complete Field Guide For Cynics (CD) (Import)
Label: Border Music Origin: Sweden
Contains bonus track "Rodney's Song" not on vinyl release. ‘Field Guide…’ is a rich mix of hard rockin’ grooves pulled smoothly from many seemingly different genres. Half-Man does an excellent job of mixing early 70s style progressive rock, straight up blues, and modern ‘psychedelic’ rock riffs into one hell of a heavy groove rock experience.

Half of Zero The Number of the Least (CD)
Label: Goatsicle Music Origin: USA
It’s riff-oriented instrumental rock that stands on its own, sans vocals. It’s closest to Karma to Burn in approach, but without that reckless southern attitude. What they have instead is a sludgy crunch that brings to mind the Melvins and phrasings that aren’t too far removed from Stinking Lizavetta. The Number of the Least is warm in sound, sloppy in a way all good rock bands should be, and with a guitar tone that’s best described as “growly.”

Halfway to Gone Second Season (CD)
Label: Small Stone Origin: USA
Ever had the shit slapped out of you by a record? If not then it's time to feel the punch of Halfway to Gone. While other "stoner rock" bands tend to try and fake the heavy and lie through the southern, Halfway To Gone grab the beast by the balls and squeeze 'till it's dead.

Halfway to Gone Self Titled (CD)
Label: Small Stone Origin: USA
Halfway to Gone is a southern drenched hard rock guitar outfit with some wickedly tight tunes. From the upbeat 'Burn Em Down' to the soulful and heavy overdriven grooves of 'Turnpike', these guys are 100 percent high energy hard southern guitar style rock and roll. I am filing this CD somewhere near Dixie Witch around the corner from Raging Slab and COC, and even though these guys aren't doom-- they DO have some pretty damn evil sounding changes and grooves from time ...

Hallowed Butchery Funeral Rites for the Living (CD) (Import)
Label: Vendetta Origin: Germany
Limited edition of only 500 copies. Though this one-man project ostensibly falls within doom's murky sphere it manages to cut through a variety of subterranean genres with a cold blade, effectively providing a cross section of all things dour and gloomy. The first thing you'll notice are the trudging atonal riffs and unearthly rasps, but closer inspection reveals wisps of industrial static, droning melancholy and vague traces of forgotten folk, suggesting that while a d...

Hallowed Butchery/Batillus Split LP (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Vendetta Origin: Germany
Limited edition of only 400 copies on black vinyl. Batillus starts off this split with three tracks with cojones larger than any pair of the roomiest boxers could contain. This Brooklyn band aims to simultaneously impress and destroy their listening audience with crushing riffs, booming bass, massive drums, and vocals that I would imagine are done by a very large, anthropomorphic tree. Hallowed Butchery cuts right to the chase with his two tracks. The deceptively named ...

Hammergun Texas (CD)
Label: Stereo Records Origin: USA
Heavy, heavy, heavy. Hammergun has a throttling, tuned down sound that rips your head off from the start. Good solid riff rock with tons of girth. If you haven't heard Hammergun before, their sound is tinged in hardcore tendencies along the lines of Eyehategod at times...other times it reminds me of early Helmet but with more simple blues based guitar solos. Downright dark and evil for the most part. I dig this CD because it reminds me of so many different bands, but y...

Hammers of Misfortune The August Engine (Vinyl LP)
Label: Tumult Origin: USA
Black, white and red ink on a chipboard cover. This front cover art doesn't appear on the CD release. Includes printed inner sleeve with full lyrics and illustrations. Hammers of Misfortune are very progressive. Sometimes it's crunchy and metallic, other times it's very retro sounding with '70s keyboards and a rock vibe.

The Hand of Doom Poisonoise (2CD)
Label: Shadow Kingdom Origin: USA
So, is it Doom then, you might ask? No, it isn't. But is it heavy? HELL YES it is! It was one of the rawest, hardest Heavy Rock records of its time with a truly groundbreaking sound; a true "Roots of Metal" item! It may have been recorded in the 70's, but I'll be damned to life if you'll find any Purp's/Zep's/Sab's vibes in their music. No, The H.O.D. lies closer to the raw, crushing sound of 1980 BRATS, SARCOFAGUS (1st), CRYSYS, early MOTÖRHEAD and the hardest of the...

Hangnail Clouds in the Head (CD)
Label: Music Cartel Origin: USA
Hangnail represents the part of the "Stoner Rock" scene much in the same way as Unida does. Loud heavy bluesy up front vocals, straight ahead big fat riff lines and tones of volume. They play the kind of rock that you can bang your head steadily through the whole set.
