Baby Woodrose - Freedom (Red) (LP) Cover Art Baby Woodrose - Freedom (Red) (IMPORT) (LP)

Limited edition on red colored vinyl.

The 2016 full-length from the Danish garage-psych power house. All Baby Woodrose albums have a different vibe and this time there has been an analogue approach to recording the nine songs. The whole album is recorded and mixed on tape, givng it a very rockband live-in-the-studio type of feel. This means no cut and paste and a minimal amount of overdubs.

Baby Woodrose - Kicking Ass and Taking Names (IMPORT) (CD) Cover Art Baby Woodrose - Kicking Ass and Taking Names (IMPORT) (CD)

The tracks contained on this compilation represent the outskirts of the Baby Woodrose universe, from weird cover versions like '6654321' by The Troggs to 2 minute punk outbursts like 'A Good Day To Die', but what they all have in common is the uncommitted energy and instant excitement of an adrenaline kick. Some of them were created on the spot in the studio (Live Wire comes to mind) and others were meant as album tracks, but ended up as outtakes for one reason or another. They have been recorded over a number of years, in different studios and by different band lineups, mixed at different stages by different people and released by different labels from all over the world, so the sound might vary slightly, but they also represent a unique archival history of the band, compiled here for the first time. An excellent collection of rare B-sides 2001-2013.

Baby Woodrose - Love Comes Down (Re-issue) (IMPORT) (CD) Cover Art Baby Woodrose - Love Comes Down (Re-issue) (IMPORT) (CD)

It's great Baby Woodroose. Short, punchy songs with that garagey, 60's acid feel to it. Lorenzo still sounds a bit like Dave Wyndorf, but he's definitely carving out his own vocal identity. The rest of the band sounds tight throughout. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

Possibly their most varied release yet. Blistering guitar solos all over the place and lots of cool effects and songs about drugs, babes and rock 'n' roll. Great album as we were expecting and hoping for and good old Baby Woodrose ain't let us down.

Baby Woodrose - Self Titled (IMPORT) (CD) Cover Art Baby Woodrose - Self Titled (IMPORT) (CD)

Essentially now a Lorenzo Woodrose solo project, Baby Woodrose's fifth studio album (excluding the all covers Dropout!) finds the band – er, artist – taking tentative steps back to the rollicking garage drug rock of the early years. It's a good sign for those, like this reviewer, who hold Money for Soul in such high regard, but ultimately, Baby Woodrose remains content to follow Chasing Rainbow's lead of staying on the poppier side of garage.

Cosmonauts - Emerald Green (IMPORT) (7 inch) Cover Art Cosmonauts - Emerald Green (IMPORT) (7 inch)

Cosmonauts was formed in 2009 and resides in Orange County in sunny southern California. They sound like a bunch of kids that don’t like the beach too much and spend their time inside taking drugs and complaining that it never rains. They have a huge buzzing sound that rely on broken amps and not pedals that most bands use to make noise.

Dandelion, The - Self Titled (IMPORT) (LP) Cover Art Dandelion, The - Self Titled (IMPORT) (LP)

Limited edition of only 500 copies on black vinyl.

Bad Afro is launching a series of 12” EPs in 2014 and the first release is this self titled 6-track EP by The Dandelion from Australia. The Dandelion is the solo project of Daniel J Poulter, the former frontman of The Dolly Rocker Movement. Bad Afro released the third Dolly Rocker album Our Days Mind the Tyme in 2010 and has since then also released two 7” singles.

Poulter has moved from Sydney to the country side as he needed a bit of loner time to work shit out and get back into making music again. Here there is more time for music and less distractions. The Dandelion is sort of a continuation of his former projects Los Sundowners, Kill City Creeps and The Dolly Rocker Movement where all his inspirations melt into one sound. Poulter is playing all the instruments himself on the EP and recorded the songs on a four track cassette machine and an old ADAT recorder. He also did the artwork. Currently a band is being formed and live shows will follow soon.

The six songs on the EP are taken from a very limited CD release called Strange Case of the Dandelion that Poulter released on his own in Australia. The EP is limited to 500 copies on black vinyl.

Dolly Rocker Movement, The - Our Days Mind the Tyme (IMPORT) (CD) Cover Art Dolly Rocker Movement, The - Our Days Mind the Tyme (IMPORT) (CD)

The Dolly Rocker Movement are a psychedelic rock band, smattered with pop sensibility like ink blots dropped onto a celluloid backdrop. Lead singer, guitarist and psych-pop auteur Daniel Poulter oozes the type of stage charisma you'd associate with the iconic rock stars who now dominate 60's pop memorabilia. The songs are underpinned by riffs so sweet and succulent they'd bring a tear to Anthony Bourdain's eye.

Dragontears - Tambourine Freak Machine (IMPORT) (CD) Cover Art Dragontears - Tambourine Freak Machine (IMPORT) (CD)

Features a cover of Bob Dylan's "Masters of War".

Dragontears from Denmark can be considered a super group of psychedelic underground rock as the band is formed mainly by former and present members of On Trial and Baby Woodrose. Tambourine Freak Machine has some unbelievably deep and hallucinatory atmospheres and is a must have for every fan of psychedelic underground music.

Hazy psychedlic tunes with spaced-out vocals and dizzying electronic effects. Great, well-sung cover of Bob Dylan’s Masters of War on this as well. This is likely to provide one of the better head trips of the year with its many jangly guitar jams and drum solos. Has a very relaxed, stoned colorful aesthetic.

The long awaited 2nd album by Dragontears continues the experimental path of "2000 Micrograms From Home". One could say it's more of the same. A bit more psychedelic, less noisy, more melodic, less anarchic. It will definitely appeal to fans of the debut. 6 long trippy songs including a great take on Dylan's "Masters Of War". "2000 Micrograms" featured a lot of different musicians from Copenhagen, and "Tambourine Freak Machine" also has an impressive lineup.

Dragontears - Turn on Tune in Fuck Off!! (IMPORT) (CD) Cover Art Dragontears - Turn on Tune in Fuck Off!! (IMPORT) (CD)

Turn On Tune In Fuck Off!! sounds like one big acid trip. A bad trip because lyrics-wise it's a rather moody, pessimistic record. Musically that is not so evident because all the music Lorenzo Woodrose makes sounds in a strange way light and almost happy.

Something to be aware of...
By default, the search results include titles from The Archive. This will often give the impression that we don't do a very good job of keeping our titles in stock. This is not the case! Most of our 3,500+ active catalog titles are restocked regularly. It's the 7,500+ archived titles that are "unavailable". Use the search refinement options or do more specific searches if you're seeing too many "unavailable" items. Also, results are sorted by date with the newest releases at the top. Again, you can use the search refinement options to change this.

  • Refine by Category > All Else will hide archived titles and only show active catalog titles. (only available when there are enough search results to warrant it)
  • Sort By and Refine By Record Label Provide many options for more specific search results.
