Old Man Gloom - Christmas (USA) (2LP) Cover Art Old Man Gloom - Christmas (USA) (2LP)

Limited edition on black vinyl in a deluxe gatefold sleeve! Featuring members from Isis, Converge, and Cave In.

Like Isis' Oceanic and Celestial, Christmas is filled with peaks and valleys, instances of harsh noise-core followed by ambient mood pieces. While Christmas is, much like Isis’ later recordings, a deeply layered album, it’s also direct. But that’s not to say the members of Converge and Cave In have no say in Christmas. Their influences are apparent in the songwriting itself. The tracks are more focused, giving the album a greater effect and mood. There are no semi-realized tracks, and there is no filler.

As barren as it is busy, Christmas is a sonic abomination crooked with distortion, sublime heaviness, and most importantly, a child-like adoration of our simian brethren. And unlike the holiday, your presents are bits of twitchy sludge and jittery soundscapes that are both full of climactic head-swelling moments and end-of-life drones. Watch the sunset, get bombarded by hail. Smell the flowers, get gang raped. It's a sick system. If none of this interests you the booklet is the funniest thing you'll read all year.

180gr vinyl. Deluxe gatefold. 2 bonus tracks.

This classic 1970 British hard rock album has been repressed on 180 gram vinyl with 2 bonus tracks! Although the title suggests psychedelic rock, the album actually brings on full-body Zeppelinesque hard rock, driven by the dual guitars of Derek Brooks and Mick Halls. Blues-based rhythms strengthened by the vocals of Pete French (of the Brunning Sunflower Blues band) and Black Cat Bone (future Atomic Rooster). A hard-prog classic not to be missed!

Tid - Bortom Inom (IMPORT) (LP) Cover Art Tid - Bortom Inom (IMPORT) (LP)

Tid's debut album "Bortom Inom [2007] on Vinyl for the very first time. As years have gone by and Tid's fanbase has been growing slowly but steadily, these two albums have become somewhat of classics for those interested in music of the more suggestive sort. Tid's debut "Bortom Inom" and follow up album "Giv Akt" was released free for download at Sounds Of Zilence in 2007 & 2010. The demand for physical copies have increased by the years, and now The Sign Records is offering both albums on Vinyl and CD. Tid - "Bortom Inom" [2007] Tid's debut EP. This is music suggesting a strange kind of landscape; metropolic yet ancient in sound - not your usual kind of songs. 4 tracks of strange character leading you in to the world of Tid, where no limits are to be felt or dealt. Like a U2 from hell carrying out "The Shining" O.S.T. Tid is a Swedish four piece orchestra that makes music best described as dark and dramatic, on the verge of film scores; that being the main influence for their music and art. Majestic, mystic and dreamlike music of the darker kind that brings pictures and scenarios to mind. Tid is flirting with musical styles long since forbidden by the anxious and wary, thus expressing a wide range of feelings and ideas that might have a positive effect on the stagnated yet seeking and exploring music lovers in the world. Ranging from dark apocalyptic dance music to soundtracks for a dreamlike wandering in ones mind trying to kill reflections of a dark past. With lyrics written in classic verse that brings to mind something old and long since forgotten or hidden - now found and accompanied by Tid's music - this is highly different band. The references to their music are legio, and the wells of inspiration know no boundaries. Tid is music and artwork. The band sees the two as highly connected and completing each other. The band writes music with artwork in mind, a does artwork with music in mind. "Tid" is the Swedish word for Time.

Rebel Wizard - Triumph of Gloom (LP) Cover Art Rebel Wizard - Triumph of Gloom (LP)

Rebel Wizardís negative metal is an anarchic alchemical process of outsider energies respecting the power of traditional triumphant metal into a unique sound to smash out the coerced gloom and banality of our times. It is a creation from Australian musician, NKSV, also from the long running black metal/noise band Nekrasov. NKSV started the band in 2012, released his first demo in 2013 and since then has self-released a steady flow of music including 5 EPs, a mini album and this yearís Triumph of Gloom album which has received a ton of praise from the press all over the world. Rebel Wizard canít be summed up with one simple label. Itís not black or thrash metal but firmly rooted in both. Thereís a touch of NWOBHM in there as well the epicness of power metal. Many bands try to combine different genres of metal, some fail, some succeed, but what makes Rebel Wizard strive is itís done from instinct. 30 years of listening to all genres of metal has given NKSV a vast arsenal to choose from. However itís not so much the music heís going after, but rather the feeling. Remember the first time you heard Maiden, Blind Guardian, Rainbow, Emperor, etc? NKSV takes those sentiments and then grabs the guitar and puts them into music. The result is fresh and full of emotion, probably words NKSV would not like associated with his music, but canít be avoided when approaching writing this way.

The description he does like however is aforementioned ďNegative MetalĒ. Not so much on the sense of depression of nihilism, but more so of the negation of self. Self negation has been defined as of doing away with categories that limit oneself and others from oneís full potential. Labels and tags hinder the arts more than they assist in the appreciation of it, which is something Rebel Wizard seeks to destroy with triumphant pounding fists.

Something to be aware of...
By default, the search results include titles from The Archive. This will often give the impression that we don't do a very good job of keeping our titles in stock. This is not the case! Most of our 3,500+ active catalog titles are restocked regularly. It's the 7,500+ archived titles that are "unavailable". Use the search refinement options or do more specific searches if you're seeing too many "unavailable" items. Also, results are sorted by date with the newest releases at the top. Again, you can use the search refinement options to change this.

  • Refine by Category > All Else will hide archived titles and only show active catalog titles. (only available when there are enough search results to warrant it)
  • Sort By and Refine By Record Label Provide many options for more specific search results.
