Baby Woodrose Blows Your Mind! (Blue) (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Translucent blue vinyl. Deluxe gatefold sleeve. The music is very different from Lorenzo’s main band On Trial, this is 60´s sounding psychedelic rock with a strong pop vibe. If you have (and love) the Nuggets box you’ll love this as well, if you also like The Wellwater Conspiracy and bands like Farflung and ST 37 you gotta buy this disc as well. ...Lorenzo has a great voice that at times reminds me of Dave Wyndorf’s, on top of that he handles all the instruments himself...

Baby Woodrose Chasing Rainbows (Green) (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Limited edition on green vinyl. Deluxe gatefold sleeve. If Money for Soul was a wild romp through pop-influenced '60's garage rock, Chasing Rainbows is more interested in the psychedelic angle. The 11 songs on the album get progressively darker and more twisted. These guys really know how to write some great throwback tunes. If you're in the mood for some drugged out '60's garage pop with some lyrical heft, this is the album for you.

Baby Woodrose Disconnected (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
The Danish music scene is finally getting somewhere and Baby Woodrose is the latest proof. With the sparse line-up of two guitars, drums and vocals they manage to create a unique sound that takes them to the 60's and back leaving the music being influenced by many shades of rock'n'roll and psych but played with heartfelt punk attitude.

Baby Woodrose Dropout! (CD) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
On Dropout! Baby Woodrose come off as a retro version of Monster Magnet (mostly due to the vocals), with the atmosphere of both Brant Bjork’s solo work and The Hellacopters, and with, of course, an appreciation for ‘60s garage pop and rock. But that’s mostly due to the cover choices, all of which date from that point in time. Dropout! is a tribute to the bands that helped shape Baby Woodrose’s sound. While the songs may be from one particular point in ...

Baby Woodrose Light Up Your Mind (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Limited edition of only 600 copies on black vinyl. 'Light Up Your Mind' contains two exclusive songs originally recorded to be included on the Third Eye Surgery album. But the songs did not fit in, not because of the quality of the songs but the mood of the songs was just too different compared to the final album. "Light up your Mind" is an uplifting song about regaining strength while the flipside "Bubblegum" is a tight Kinks-type rocker.

Baby Woodrose Love Comes Down (Color) (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Limited edition on green vinyl. Deluxe gatefold sleeve. It's great Baby Woodroose. Short, punchy songs with that garagey, 60's acid feel to it. Lorenzo still sounds a bit like Dave Wyndorf, but he's definitely carving out his own vocal identity. The rest of the band sounds tight throughout. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

Baby Woodrose Money for Soul (Color) (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Limited edition on red vinyl. Danish outfit Baby Woodrose haven't been around too terribly long, but you wouldn't guess it by their veteran classic sounding musicianship and overall flow and tightness as a unit. Some of it reminds me of 60's garage, other times it reminds me of bands like Cream and Pentagram with their creamy guitar tones and layers of stringed overdubs...leads and all. The vocals remind me of somewhere between the singer for Steppenwolf crossed with P...

Baby Woodrose Self Titled (CD) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Essentially now a Lorenzo Woodrose solo project, Baby Woodrose's fifth studio album (excluding the all covers Dropout!) finds the band – er, artist – taking tentative steps back to the rollicking garage drug rock of the early years. It's a good sign for those, like this reviewer, who hold Money for Soul in such high regard, but ultimately, Baby Woodrose remains content to follow Chasing Rainbow's lead of staying on the poppier side of garage.

Baby Woodrose Third Eye Surgery (Red) (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Limited edition of only 500 copies on red vinyl. Deluxe gatefold sleeve. If you’re Baby Woodrose frontman and principle songwriter Lorenzo Woodrose, the only place to go at this point is further out. On the band’s sixth album, Third Eye Surgery , they do precisely that, pushing the established heavy psychedelic pop into more ethereal realms without sacrificing the structures and strong sense of composition that always makes the Copenhagen band’s work so memorable.

Baby Woodrose/Sweatmaster Split 7 inch (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
The two bands met when they toured together in Germany in 2003. One night Sweatmaster surprised Baby Woodrose by playing a cover of "Pouring Water" from the Money for Soul album. The next night Baby Woodrose returned the favour by playing "Hold it!" from Sweatmaster's debut album, Sharp Cut. It's exactly those two cover songs which is featured on this single.

Cosmonauts Emerald Green (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Netherlands
Cosmonauts was formed in 2009 and resides in Orange County in sunny southern California. They sound like a bunch of kids that don’t like the beach too much and spend their time inside taking drugs and complaining that it never rains. They have a huge buzzing sound that rely on broken amps and not pedals that most bands use to make noise.

The Dolly Rocker Movement Our Brave New World (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
The Dolly Rocker Movement from Australia is influenced by late 60's garage, psychedelia and West coast folk. Main man Daniel Poulter writes beautiful and well-crafted songs and beneath the psychedelic and colourful surface Dolly Rocker is simply a great pop band with a destinctive sound of their own.

The Dolly Rocker Movement Our Days Mind the Tyme (CD) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
The Dolly Rocker Movement are a psychedelic rock band, smattered with pop sensibility like ink blots dropped onto a celluloid backdrop. Lead singer, guitarist and psych-pop auteur Daniel Poulter oozes the type of stage charisma you'd associate with the iconic rock stars who now dominate 60's pop memorabilia. The songs are underpinned by riffs so sweet and succulent they'd bring a tear to Anthony Bourdain's eye.

The Dolly Rocker Movement Your Side of Town (Vinyl 7 inch) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Includes a cover of Chaz and the Classics' "Girl of the 13th Hour". "Your Side of Town" is a slightly melancholic psych pop song with vibrant guitar licks and cool organs while "Silently We Sung" has a more quirky beat miles away from the usual garage thang. "Girl of the 13th Hour" is a cover song originally by the 1967 obscure Texas garage band, Chaz and the Classics.

Dragontears 2000 Micrograms from Home (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Bad Afro Origin: Denmark
Dragontears is a project featuring Baby Woodrose and current and former members of On Trial. The songs on the album began life as improvised jam sessions that eventually resulted in six songs of a very diverse nature. All songs are linked together by sound effect interludes and are drenched in a psychedelic web of glockenspiel, autoharp, bubbly wahwah guitar sounds often played backwards, tambourine and strange sounds from vintage tape echo machines living a life of ...
