"It’s a well known fact by now that the Swedes posses some of the best talent in music. Bands such as Graveyard, Witchcraft, The Truckfighters, Dozer and Greenleaf are fine examples that I believe solidify my statement. Spiders are certainly on that list. Their debut full length, Flash Point, follows up a string of successful 7" and 10" releases."
"Take Graveyard, take out the retro feeling, add female vocals, some punk, a little bit of blues, and plenty of garage rock. The sound isn’t a retro or vintage garage rock that you’d hear in bands such as Cherry Choke but more modern. Close to The White Strips with a little more oomph. Flash Point could easily be an album of the year candidate. I know it’s going to end up on my list somewhere. The fast and rugged sound is the selling point for me."

"Despite originally having members from both Graveyard and Witchcraft, Spiders mostly leaves the proto-doom sounds behind, favoring high energy garage rock, MC5, Alice Cooper and other pre-punk along the lines of Australia’s Radio Birdman and Cleveland’s Rocket From the Tombs. With building blocks from the 60s and 70s, they sound familiar but somehow fresh. I can’t think of any other band that shares their retro yet contemporary hybrid sound. Flash Point sounds like it was recorded fast and loose to capture their live energy. Not to say the band isn’t tight, but the high velocity guitar leads jump outside the lines just enough to keep their edges roughed up."
