"To call them doom does them a great disservice, as there's much more to the five piece (Justin Anderson, Nachtmystium's Markus Launsburry – guitars, Dave Katzman – bass, Lair of the Minotaur's Chris Wozniak – drums, Mark Weiner – vocals)) than just the usual down-tuned dirge-riffs that define that genre. Sure, the band displays their knowledge of the past (Vitus, Obsessed, etc) with "Preacher" and "Praying for the End of Days," but those are the least interesting songs on the album. The ones that really register are those that use doom as a base and then build in innovative directions. It's obvious the overall emphasis is on quality songwriting. Trifog's a fantastic discovery and If I Could Change My Ways… is well worth your time."
