"I’ve been sitting on this one for a while, listening to the CD over and over, but never bothering to write about it. I admit that’s bad behavior for a critic, but Periscope, like the other Colour Haze albums, is too good for multitasking. If I’m going to listen to it, I’m going to listen to it and say to hell with everything else. This album has the band continuing to define their signature sound. There’s the familiar distorted growl that stems from Kyuss, and rumbling underneath are jazzier rhythms and fluid bass playing. Mixed together, you get a highly emotive style of music that’s as introspective as it’s uplifting. The band finds a natural groove and lets it grow naturally. Nothing’s forced – it’s an incredibly organic sound. The best way of describing Colour Haze is to call it “beautiful.” Which explains why I’ve had such a rough time writing about Periscope. But there’s no sense in me being greedy and hoarding it all to myself." Arzgarth StonerRock.com
"If you are familiar with Colour Haze, who have released Ewige Blumenkraft and the more recent album, Los Sounds de Krauts, you will not be surprised by the sound of this one. The production is fabulous, sounds are both loud and warm. All of the songs filled with deep spaced out guitars, low bass, jazzy drumming and that beautiful smokey voice. These guys own the groove."

"It has more balls than Los Sounds de Krauts. Fuzzfilled riffs chugging along with some slowed down parts here and there. Don't miss out on this masterpiece."

Colour Haze All (Vinyl 2LP) (Import)
Label: Elektrohasch Origin: Germany
Limited edition in deluxe gatefold sleeve! Colour Haze’s “All” lives up to its name. It seems to capture practically “All” of Colour Haze’s reach and breadth in one single amazing disc. Each album they have released has been, to me, a cause of celebration. But this one is a revelation—never before have they ever packed so much range into an album, and such a superb blend of studio precision and free flowing abandon. This album adds even more psychedelia (was that possib...

Colour Haze Burg Herzberg Festival 18.Juli 2008 (2CD) (Import)
Label: Herzberg Verlag Origin: Germany
Recorded live at the Burg Herzberg Festival on July 18th, 2008. Burg Herzberg Festival 18.Juli 2008 captures over two hours’ worth of the trio’s set from the traditional hippie fest. Since their studio albums basically are intended to recreate the band’s sound in the most natural way possible, there’s not much of a leap in terms of how they actually pull off the songs, but like any live record worth a damn, there are tiny imperfections and changes to make it special for...

Colour Haze Los Sounds de Krauts (2CD) (Import)
Label: Elektrohasch Origin: Germany
Colour Haze have a new one out, and it's a long album! Let me tell you. It's a double CD of some of the best stoner psychedelic rock out of Germany... There are some gems among these songs that are definitely worth checking into. If you aren't familiar with the Colour Haze, their sound is a mix of the desert sounds with tones of Monster Magnet, Kyuss and even maybe some Can influence. Some of the tunes are 10 minutes long and sometimes as much as 18 minutes! Great long...

Colour Haze Self Titled (CD) (Import)
Label: Elektrohasch Origin: Germany
The dynamics on this between the quiet and the loud are more pronounced, to great effect. Lots of tension in the music, like Los Sounds de Krauts, but even more carefully done. The vocal lines have a lot more variety too - the style is varied and interesting. This thing is gonna be another masterpiece - and fans of Los Sounds... will be super satisfied, without it feeling like more of the same. Every track is an epic journey!

Colour Haze She Said (2CD) (Import)
Label: Elektrohasch Origin: Germany
Colour Haze had been on a hot streak of genre-defining records that included 2003’s Los Sounds de Krauts, 2004’s Colour Haze and 2006’s Tempel, but even All couldn’t anticipate the explosion of bands who have emerged in the subsequent years who’ve taken influence from Colour Haze’s tonally warm, jam-ready aesthetic. With She Said, they emerge as leaders of a scene they helped create. Whether it’s younger acts like Sungrazer, The Machine and Wight or their peers as much...
