""The Last Embrace" is the final and cumulative musical statement from one of the heaviest power-trios of the past decade: Spirit Caravan. Wino regards the two-disc, twenty-nine song package not as a ‘complete works’, but simply as the best of Spirit Caravan’s music. And their best, as it were, certainly includes the band’s final three songs -(previously unreleased!!)- soaring vocal melodies, reflective acoustic work, earth-rumbling riff-heaviness, and a more open approach to songwriting possibilities characterize these tracks, shedding light on the tragically unrealized potential of an influential and (of course) underappreciated band. The Last Embrace features:"
"- Nineteen songs taken from ‘Jug Fulla Sun’ and ‘Elusive Truth’, Spirit Caravan’s two out-of-print albums, fully remastered for this release.
- The original Shine-era recordings of "Lost Sun Dance," "Courage" and "Powertime," felt by the band to be superior to the versions on ‘Jug Fulla Sun’.
- Alternate recordings of "Darkness & Longing" and "The Departure" from ‘Elusive Truth’, also felt by the band to be superior in performance to the album versions.
- "Undone Mind" and "So Mortal Be," the two songs from the final Spirit Caravan 7-inch single -- never released on CD until now.
- The last three Spirit Caravan songs ever recorded, "The Last Embrace", "Brainwashed" and "Dove-Tongued Aggressor" -- never released in any format until now.
- Retrospective liner notes by singer/guitarist Wino, with complete lyrics and band photos.
